I’ve had the Victrix Pro BFG Tekken 8 Rage Art Edition controller for over a month and tested it across PS5, PS4 Pro, and Steam Deck. As a fan of high-end gamepads like the Xbox Elite and DualSense Edge, I was excited to try this modular, officially licensed controller—especially with its Tekken-themed design.
📦 What’s in the Box
- Victrix Pro BFG Tekken 8 Rage Art Edition controller
- Braided USB-C cable
- Premium travel case
- Fightpad module with 6-button layout
- Two gates, two extra analog stick caps, and two d-pad caps
- Module screwdriver
- Wireless USB dongle (blue, themed)
Everything fits neatly into a rugged case. However, themed replacement parts aren’t sold separately—something Victrix should consider.
🕹️ Platform Compatibility
Native support includes PS5, PS4, and PC. On the Steam Deck, the dongle worked flawlessly through the official Docking Station, with full PlayStation button support and no setup required.
Wireless play on PS4 and PS5 also worked seamlessly with the dongle, making this controller ideal for cross-platform players.
⚙️ Features & Modularity
- Switchable symmetric/asymmetric thumbsticks
- Swap in a 6-button fightpad for fighters
- Adjust trigger stops, d-pads, and analog stick caps
Perfect for switching playstyles—symmetric for casual games like Katamari Damacy, asymmetric for precision in DOOM Eternal. Trigger stops and d-pad swaps add even more personalization.
⚠️ Missing Features & Limitations
- ❌ No rumble or haptic feedback
- ❌ No adaptive trigger support
- ❌ No motion controls
- ❌ Cannot power on PS5 via controller
These omissions are disappointing for a $200 controller. Some limitations may stem from Sony’s restrictions, but the lack of even basic rumble is a major shortfall.
The four back buttons are a nice touch and useful for games like Monster Hunter World, but they aren’t paddles and cannot be removed.
🎨 Look & Feel
Visually bold with blue, pink, and purple accents. It may not be as sleek as the base model, but it’s stylish for a themed edition. Lightweight design supports long gaming sessions, though plastic materials don’t feel as premium as Sony’s DualSense Edge.
🔋 Battery Life
Battery life is one of the strongest points. It easily outlasts the DualSense and DualSense Edge. A light on the touchpad warns you of low battery—something even many premium controllers miss.
🖥️ Software Support
Victrix software is Windows-only. The controller works out of the box on PS4, PS5, and Steam Deck, but there is no compatibility with iOS or iPadOS in either wired or wireless modes.
❌ Areas for Improvement
- No rumble support
- Low polling rate hurts competitive play
- Hall Effect stick modules not included (sold separately)
- Wireless requires dongle; themed dongle can’t be swapped easily
The lack of Hall Effect sensors and low polling rate are disappointing for a “Pro” controller, especially since the aftermarket modules may not match the edition’s aesthetic.
✅ Final Verdict
After 100+ hours with Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Persona 3 Reload, and UFO 50, the Victrix Pro BFG Tekken 8 Rage Art Edition earns high marks for modularity and comfort. But it falls short of perfection due to the missing core features like rumble and adaptive triggers, as well as hardware decisions that reduce its pro-level appeal.
