Sharp sword training—Sony has just dropped the bombshell that Ghost of Yotei, the highly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, is finally coming on October 2nd on PlayStation 5. Amazingly, that’s also the day of my birthday—what a coincidence! To mark the occasion, a gripping new trailer has dropped, offering a thrilling first glimpse at the game.
Official Synopsis
Sixteen years ago, in the center of the Ezo district (now Hokkaido), a violent gang named the Yōtei Six destroyed Atsu’s life. They slaughtered her family and stranded her on a burning ginkgo tree in her front yard. But Atsu lived. Over time, she became a master in fighting, killing, and survival. Now she’s returned, carrying a kill list etched with six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
The trailer offers glimpses of frenetic gameplay, such as a highlight in which Atsu’s wolf ally slices through the bad guys. One notably grisly detail? Atsu wipes down her sword on the parchment where she’s written out her victims’ names—a chill, refined flourish.
