Dead By Daylight has a great roster of original and licensed killers and survivors. There is a great amount of variety amongst everyone included, with the standouts this year including the Unknown and Sable Ward to Dracula and Trevor Belmont. While BeHaviour Interactive is open-minded to a lot of ideas, the developer has shared one rule for survivors that does not apply to DBD killers.

As for killers that are on the horizon, we have the release date and leaks for Chapter 34. In addition, we know we are getting a highly-requested FNAF Chapter in Year 10 for 2025, and the next licensed killer is set to arrive in March. While the next licensed killer might be controversial, BeHaviour Interactive has provided good news for fans wanting Jason from Friday the 13th.

There is a lot of potential killers for Dead By Daylight as the possibilities are nearly limitless. There is a lot of potential for great DBD survivors, too, but there is one rule BeHaviour Interactive will not break.

Dead By Daylight will never have survivor children

As shared by Dvveet on X, Dead By Daylight game director and head of partnerships at BeHaviour Interactive, Mathieu Cote, recently conducted an interview with InsipidGhost.

During this interview, Mathieu Cote said, “We don’t put children in the game, that’s one of the rules we haven’t broken”. Cote quickly corrected himself by elaborating, “Well, that’s not true. We don’t kill children, children who kill that’s absolutely fine”.

In laymen terms, this means children as killers is acceptable, but there will never be children as survivors. This means you will never be able to grab and pierce a little Jimmy onto a hook.

While some may be disappointed by this rule, it does make sense as a lot of horror films don’t go so far as killing children either. It probably explains why we got Chucky in DBD without Andy as in Child’s Play 1 and 2 he was only six and eight-years old.

One of the youngest killers in Dead By Daylight is Sadako from Ringu. In said movie she’s 19-years old, which is considerably older than The Ring western adaptation where Samara was 12-years old at the time of her death. Chucky looks like a child killer, but we actually know that he’s a bad man trapped inside the body of a child’s doll.

We haven’t had a child killer, but at least we know it’s not impossible for the future. A crossover many fans desire is BioShock, and seeing a Big Daddy with a Little Sister would be great.
