Cybercorp Steam Review – A Secret Treasure in the Game Slush Pile

Played on Steam Deck | Verdict: Must Play

When Megame comes up, my first thought is Hot Love Dreams—you know, that NSFW title that shipped with full nudity and was promptly removed from the Nintendo eShop. Their history on the eShop speaks for itself with a wealth of titles that raise eyebrows (Sniper Scope: Realistic Tactical Shooter, anyone?). But on PC? They’re doing something entirely different. Meet Cybercorp—a surprisingly refined, stylish, and actually quite fun isometric looter-shooter that took me completely by surprise.

Let me make one thing clear: Cybercorp is great. Like, super great.

Played on Steam Deck – And It Plays Brilliantly

Yes, I played this on my brand-new Steam Deck, and the game performed smoothly and responsively. The controls were tight, combat was fluid, and visually, it was excellent on the Deck’s screen.

Gameplay – Enjoyable Combat and Immersive Loadouts

You take on the role of a cyber-agent piloting a synthetic combat droid across a series of missions. Gameplay revolves around navigating procedurally generated levels, mowing down waves of enemies, and collecting loot. You’re equipped with two ranged weapons and a melee weapon, and using melee isn’t just flashy—it’s critical, as finishing enemies restores health.

Reloading is done through a timed meter (press X at the appropriate time for a quick reload), and you also have two active skill slots for things such as a dash or an automatic turret.

The loot system provides a lot of depth—guns, synth armor upgrades, and enhancements—but surprisingly, it’s accessible. It may not be as complex as Diablo’s, but it doesn’t have to be. You can use as much or as little of the system as you desire. The same applies to the combo system, which builds up a meter for bonus actions. I never really understood it, but from what I saw, it seems to encourage aggressive play.

Presentation – Cyberpunk Done Right

Graphically, Cybercorp is a highlight. The worlds are rich, textured, and truly get the cyberpunk look right. The music gets a nod as well—no voice acting, but the energetic music transitions effortlessly between exploration and combat. It provides a wonderful feeling of momentum.

Another pleasant detail: your apartment hub changes with story development, matching your progression in a neat but immersive manner.

Final Thoughts – A Shockingly Good Release from Megame

Honestly, Cybercorp might be Megame’s best title to date—yes, even better than Survive and Craft. It’s not perfect, but it’s a surprisingly polished looter-shooter rogue-lite that absolutely deserves more attention. If you’ve written off Megame based on their past releases, it’s time to reconsider.
