ETA Vouchers are a new currency added in Season 1 and can only be spent at a specific place and time.
The system is poorly explained in-game, and you can accidentally sell some valuable items if you’re not careful.
With this in mind, let me show you everything you need to know about ETA Vouchers in The First Descendant and the ETA-0 Vendor.
What are the ETA Vouchers in The First Descendant?
There are two types of ETA Vouchers that can be spent with the new ETA-0 vendor in Albion. ETA-0 is unique, as he only shows up for a few days each week. You can find him in a pop-up stall by the City Entrance Waypoint in Albion from Friday to Monday.
ETA-0 has a limited inventory, which replenishes on each visit. If you’ve played Destiny 2, ETA-0 works similarly to Xur, with unique currencies and storefronts that change over time.
The ETA Voucher types work pretty differently, so let me explain everything you need to know about each one.
How To Get Premium ETA Vouchers
The Yellow Vouchers are “Premium” and are obtained by selling miscellaneous Blueprints. You can do this with ETA-0 directly by selecting “Sell Blueprints” in the shop. Converting items into Premium Vouchers is a great way to remove unnecessary junk from your inventory, but the system has a few quirks.
You cannot hold more than 600 Premium Vouchers at any time, which is a shame if your inventory is overflowing with useless Blueprints like mine. That said, you can sell until you reach the cap, buy everything, and then refill your reserves.
Be careful of what you’re selling, as it’s possible to sell valuable blueprints like the Crystallization Catalyst or Energy Activators. This is a real problem as you can select all duplicates by holding in R3, including these rare items. With this in mind, do not use the Register Duplicate Items function.
I recommend keeping a few of each weapon’s blueprint pieces, as we’ve seen multiple underperforming guns receive massive buffs, and there’s no telling what will be next.
You typically need four duplicates of any weapon to max out their stats, so keep that in mind when clearing your stock.
How To Get Standard ETA Vouchers
Oddly enough, the rarer of the two Voucher types are called “Standard” ETA Vouchers.
You can only obtain the red Standard ETA Vouchers by completing Infiltration Operations on the new hardest difficulty, 400%. Bosses and mini-bosses typically drop four Standard ETA Vouchers when defeated, which are far more valuable than the ones you receive from selling Blueprints.
As you may expect, 400% Infiltrations are far more challenging than usual, with a dramatic spike in enemy density. Your opponents also have far more health.
Despite the increased difficulty, 400% is still pretty easy with a well-built Bunny, and she remains one of the best Descendants in the game. I’ve also had success with Gley and Freyna. The biggest difference between 400% and regular content is how much health you need.
If you want to feel comfortable, I recommend swapping a few of your Modules to boost your survivability. Increased HP and Increased DEF are mandatory. Even though they are standard Modules, they offer colossal stat boosts.
My Bunny has the Spear and Shield Module for a massive 89.8% Increased Defense. You can also rock Battle of Stamina, which gives 122.3% Increased HP at max rank.
As enemy density is so high, you can even use the HP Collector Module, which recovers 9% of your Max HP per kill. You may have to eat a slight DPS loss running defensive Modules, but you are always more useful to your team if you stay alive.
Naturally, a max-level Descendant will also help, as they have the highest base stats. There are plenty of places to farm for XP if you need a quick boost.
At the time of writing, you can buy an Energy Activator Blueprint outright for 14 Standard Vouchers, and these typically have a lousy 6% drop rate from specific Amorphous Materials. ETA-0’s inventory for the Vouchers is still limited, but there are some cracking items here.
While not strictly necessary, you may benefit from Transcendent Modules if you’re dipping your toes into tougher content for the first time.
