Slaying dragons? This really is a fantasy game, huh!?
For those who have not yet been acclimated to Metaphor’s world, these are known as Royal Virtues. These stats will allow you to influence members of the public, along with fellow party members, to gain access to new requests and unlock new skills.
This is why it’s so important to raise each of these stats as you go, so that no spare time is wasted. One skill that is easily neglected is Eloquence.
However, this stat is equally important as the rest, and will need to be high if you want to raise certain bonds later down the line.
So here is a guide on how to raise your Eloquence in Metaphor ReFantazio.
Raising Eloquence isn’t a priority at the beginning of the game, but as you get through the opening dungeons, you’ll find that this stat desperately needs some attention.
So when that time rolls around, there are two main ways that you can upgrade your Eloquence.
The first is completing certain activities in the various towns and cities you frequent throughout your journey.
There are a few activities that you will encounter on your travels that will raise Eloquence, such as spending time with Heismay in The Gauntlet Runner, for example. However, the most common and readily available activity is giving a speech within each town.
This will see the player either give a speech to try and gather support for their campaign as king, or take on a fellow opinionated individual in a debate.
You will gain three notches regardless of your choices throughout this activity, but if you select the option that gets the crowd on your side, you’ll earn four notches.
Then, the other reliable source of Eloquence points in a game is aboard the Gauntlet Runner. Players can read a book called Pride and Persuasion, which will raise their eloquence with each session. Plus, when you complete the book, you will gain four additional notches for your efforts.
As mentioned, Eloquence is a very easy to forget, as there is no easy way to raise this stat in the initial stages of the game, and equally, there is no request or action that motivates you to do so.
However, it’s good to try to raise all your Royal Virtues at a steady pace, as you never know when you could get locked out of a questline.
You should try and raise your Eloquence to at least three by the time you get to Brilehaven, as during your time in this area, you’ll most likely develop your relationship with Heismay, and only through having a high Eloquence stat will you be able to continue bonding with him.
This is something you’ll really want to do, as the Thief Archetype tree is a fantastic one. But later down the line, Eloquence will come into play, so try to raise this stat in tandem with your others.
