SCS Software has revealed the next American Truck Simulator DLC state, and if you’re a fan of truckin’ in the South, then this one’s for you.
Per a Steam post, the next major project for SCS Software is Louisiana. It follows on from the likes of Nebraska, Montana, and Oklahoma in the annals of cities that have been added to American Truck Simulator via downloadable content.
This being an American Truck Simulator DLC pack, we don’t have a release date for it yet, but we do have a bunch of mighty pretty screenshots to look at while we wait.
SCS Software is promising the inclusion of iconic Louisiana cities like New Orleans and Baton Rouge, as well as miles and miles of lowlands, valleys, and rolling hills.
Of course, you’ll also find plenty of signature Louisiana geographical features; the Mississippi floodplain will be yours to explore, as will the river delta, which has “shaped how the area looks today”, as the developer points out.
As you truck through Louisiana, you’ll encounter lots of different industrial facilities, including agriculture, fishing, forestry, and petroleum. Don’t worry; since New Orleans is one of the US’ busiest ports, you’ll have plenty of cargo to transport.

If you’re an American Truck Simulator fan, you’ll know that SCS Software typically takes its time with DLC for the game, so it could be a while before we hear about this one again.
Nevertheless, the studio has promised to share more about the Louisiana DLC and what you can expect from it in future blog posts.
You can check out American Truck Simulator right now on PC via Steam, which is also where you’ll find up-to-the-minute information about the Louisiana DLC as and when SCS Software releases it.
