Will Shattered Veil Receive an Intro Cinematic in Black Ops 6 Zombies?

Fans are abuzz with whether the new Shattered Veil map will receive an intro cinematic or not, particularly after The Tomb was released without one in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 3 is coming on April 3, with the biggest headline being the return of Verdansk to Warzone. Zombies players are also in for a treat, though, with a new round-based map coming with the season.

We’ve already seen plenty of Shattered Veil screenshots for Black Ops 6 Zombies, but the big question remains: will the new map come with a cinematic trailer?

The Status of Shattered Veil’s Intro Cinematic

A week ago, Treyarch announced Shattered Veil, the map located in the mansion of Liberty Falls, but no release word on a cinematic trailer yet. Fans are hoping for a trailer since the map is to be released on April 3, but some do not believe it will ever be available.

The Season 2 Tomb map received no cinematic trailer either—and, not surprisingly, no intro when loading into the game, either, unlike its three predecessors. The absence was likely the result of the SAG-AFTRA voice actor strikes, which made recording fresh dialogue for trailers challenging. It might also be due to time constraints or changing priorities within the studio.

That being said, it’s not too late for Treyarch to release a cinematic before Shattered Veil goes live. Yet, some are questioning whether it’s even needed.

Did We Already See the Trailer?

Interestingly enough, the trailer that we’ve already witnessed could, in fact, be Shattered Veil’s intro.

In the Liberty Falls opening scene, Eddie Richtofen awakens within the Project Janus mansion, discovers a zombie outbreak, battles undead, and goes down to take on S.A.M., who is breaking out of captivity.

This plot perfectly integrates with Shattered Veil and doesn’t have much to do with Liberty Falls directly. Could Treyarch have previewed this cutscene early as a placeholder for the actual map’s trailer?

Had this cinema been new, it would have almost guaranteed been for Shattered Veil. It doesn’t depict much of Liberty Falls and hints at S.A.M. as a villain—something out of character because S.A.M. has traditionally been an aiding companion. It even has Richtofen’s nightmare of his family being burned, which Treyarch teases will be significant to the next Zombies tale.

The trailer also features highlights of important locations that have been seen in official screenshots, such as the famous T-Rex skeleton, and hints at the map’s Wonder Weapon.

What This Means for Fans

Even though Treyarch might not release an updated cinematic just for Shattered Veil, players would still get to experience the current cutscene that sets the scene. Still, without a new intro, some fans may feel that the map launch misses that little extra bit of hype and context.
