One of the best ways to get sulfur is to mine it from the sulfur deposit.

You’ll find these sulfur deposits typically in the hotter regions of the map. They’re yellow in color.

One of the areas is shown in the map below, marked by the player location.

It’s in a hotter region where you need the heat-type armor.
